Trump accuses former president Obama of tapping his phone. “Trump’s charges confused lawmakers from both parties, who pointed out that if federal officials had legally wiretapped Trump’s offices, they would have done so with the blessing of a judge who would have been required to find credible evidence that someone there either was acting as a foreign agent or engaging in criminal behavior.”

Middlebury College students shut down Charles Murray speech. “The Southern Poverty Law Center describes Murray as a “white nationalist” who is fond of “using racist pseudoscience and misleading statistics to argue that social inequality is caused by the genetic inferiority of the black and Latino communities, women and the poor.”   Instead of letting him expose the ridiculousness of his own ideas?

Pope Francis reportedly battling church conservatives. “…Francis is trying to move at least some decisions out to the bishops and local churches across the globe, by allowing priests and bishops to make the decisions about allowing divorcees communion. That, for the traditionalists, is the thin end of the wedge.”

Government ends expedited processing of H-1B visas. “Trump has accused companies of abusing the H-1B program as a way to hire foreign workers who take jobs away from Americans, at lower salaries.”   Actually, it is not just Trump who is concerned about this. “According to a working paper published this month by researchers at the University of Michigan and University of California in San Diego, H-1B visas have exerted downward pressure on both the wages and employment rates of U.S. computer scientists.”

Commerce secretary’s links to foreign steel company eyed after Keystone XL pipeline declared exempt from “buy American” rules. “Ross, a billionaire investor and leveraged buyout specialist, sat on (ArcelorMittal’s) board until Wednesday, and in January disclosed equity holdings of between $750,000 and $1.5 million.”

If the media is making up stories about the Trump administration, why is there a hunt for the leakers? “It contradicts Trump’s mindless assertion that the news media just makes up stories about him.”
